Barchart Data Principles
When you use Barchart services, you are trusting us with your information. We design our services to keep your data safe and give you control over the information that belongs to you. Our goal is to be transparent with what we do, and that is why our policies are public.
Data Ownership
We believe that each user owns their data. This could include personally identifiable information that you provide to Barchart or allow us to access through links that you elect to establish with third party systems. Barchart will only use data that the data owner allows us to use, and we will not share personally identifiable information unless you tell us to.
Data Security
Barchart takes data security seriously. Our solutions are primarily deployed through cloud-based solutions that leverage industry-leading security infrastructure that is available from AWS. Barchart takes reasonable security measures to protect your information.
Data Usage
Barchart uses information that is uploaded and linked to our platforms primarily to make our products better and generate more value for our users. When we use this information, it is aggregated and anonymized and used for development and diagnostic purposes in connection with the products we offer you.
We may also analyze information that is provided by users to our products to create reports, insights, and information products that are intended to benefit the users that contribute the information to Barchart. This information is aggregated and non-identifiable. We do not sell any personal information to third-parties.
Data Sharing
Barchart may, upon obtaining consent from the data owner, share the data owner’s information with third party technology providers. When the data owner elects to share their information with a third party, all use by that third party is subject to their policies. Any information uploaded to Barchart by a user, directly or through a third party is subject to Barchart’s terms of use.
Your Permission
When you use a Barchart product, you agree that Barchart can use the information as described within our Terms of Service and/or End User Agreement. You have no obligation to provide information to our services and you’re free to choose the content that you want to provide. If you choose to upload, link, or share content, you must have the necessary rights to do so. By using our services, you acknowledge that you have read the applicable agreement and you understand and agree to our use of your data and information.
